Quick environment piece.

A quick little painting inspired by a photo my cousin took this morning. Spent roughly 20 minutes on it.

Some more from Variable Beamer.

Decided this time to post some full shots of the mechs (called Variable Beamers) used in the game.  I'll post some more art and concepts from the game soon.

A few Variable Beamer concept pieces

As I mentioned yesterday, I'm going to post some of the initial concept pieces and designs for Variable Beamer which was released yesterday on android. Here are a few to get started. Some of the early Mech form concepts and a few of the pilot ideas too. I'll post some more in the coming days.

Don't forget to check out the game too!

Another photography inspired piece, but no actual reference used. 45-60 minutes roughly spent on this one.

Spit Paintings

Still trying to get back into the stride of doing these quicker pieces again.  Ninja from the Future and Skeleton Lord both took roughly 30 minutes to bring to this point. Maybe someday I'll come back and take some of these further...maybe.

A few quick paintings

Just a few paintings using some spit painting topics. All of these were done under an hour, but exact time I can't be sure of. I was interrupted by something on each one. Go figure. The Ark in Water and Lava Falls paintings I did 90 -100% of with a mouse because I didn't have my tablet with me. :}

Busy at work = more time with sketchbook.

I've been pretty loaded with my day job lately and had a lot going on at home in the evenings so that has kept me doing as much painting as I would like. However, I have been able to pick up my sketchbook in the little down times at work that we get (file loads, renders, etc). Thought I would upload a few of them here just to show what I've been up to.

Dragons everywhere

After posting a few sketches yesterday, I felt like posting a collection of dragon sketches today simply because I love dragons. They are a common subject in my sketchbooks.

Even though unintentional this one ended up reminding me of one of my favorite moments from the Neverending Story.

Ink sketches...

A few ink studies I did at a recent visit to the Detroit Institute of Art with my family. Had a great time. There is so much fantastic art there to enjoy. I limited myself to 10 minutes or so to do these, otherwise we wouldn't have seen very much of the rest of the museum.

A couple of sculptures we sat and sketched.

A little painting practice...

I've been pretty busy lately working on several new games (a new mobile game and a card game) along with other aspects of life and work, but I managed to squeeze a little practice time in tonight. I was using a spitpaint topic for inspiration, although with the Olympics on in the background I can hardly qualify this as a spitpainting. I did keep it to an hour though.
